The military has a fuck ton of support jobs that are also necessary for deployments. Intelligence, medics, dentists, etc. we already have such low rates of enlistment that we have to pay 3rd country nationals to do our laundry and cook our food during deployments.
The military really cares about fitness for one reason - and it’s not to carry someone out of battle. It’s so they don’t have to pay your medical bills because you’re a fat ass. Seriously that the point of a pt test. It doesn’t assure that some 120 lbs dude who’s a little bitch (and anyone who has served has met these dudes - like that little faggot Manning) has the physical and MENTAL fortitude to carry someone out of battle. It ensures he won’t be a drain on the military medical and financial system.
If your camp is attacked during deployment it’s never gonna come down to hand to hand combat with the service personnel - because if it did - well regardless of your m16, you’re already fucked. We have so many weapons that it’s ridiculous to think that our deployment camps aren’t fortified enough for service personnel. So there’s no reason a woman can’t be there - doing her job.
Before you shit on women who serve - please remember they didn’t take a job away from a dude - in fact men are too fat and lazy to serve in most cases. We can’t get males to enlist , we had to start letting felons in because all you super straight conservative dudes aren’t enlisting! - but boy do y’all have a lot to say about women serving. Regarding tucker. There is nothing about pregnant women going to battle for Christ sake what a psyop!! Women wear a flight uniform in garrison even when not scheduled to fly. Pregnant women have served since the 50s the maternity uniform has existed since the 70s. Calm down tucker is playing you.
The military on Twitter is out of control and is usually controlled by a civilian - not the military. You are legit watching a psyop in their responses. The military would never engage in this garbage. All this Twitter crap from them should be called out they are acting unethically and out of military regulations.
Women who desire to fight with men should have to test in the same standards. But a health and fitness test should be according to sex because Men and women are physically different and health looks different. This is for women to be a cook or quartermaster etc
The military should design gear - and fitness standards outside of men in order to reduce injury. They should also teach women and train women differently. For example: push-ups - many men use their chest and triceps where women do not have natural tricep strength. If the army educated women and trained them to develop that strength they’d improve. But what the military does is go ahead and just do it - we’re all the same.

Yeah, it feels like people around here just realized there are women in the military, much less combat jobs or something... ? IDK. Women absolutely do not belong in combat roles, and thanks Obama for that crap.
The sad truth of the matter is that there has always been a certain level of double standard when it comes to female service. No combat jobs - and no combat medals, which was the real issue - was one of the necessary trade-offs. No PT or deployments when pregnant. Hair standards. And doing things like this, undoing those double standards, doesn’t make women more equal. It either makes the discrepancies worse and casts women as useless versions of their male counterparts, or takes away necessary conditions for their service.
It kind of puts the DoD into a place where it’s harder to justify women in the service. It highlights the problems. So what, in a decade are we going to tell girls coming in that they have to be on mandatory forced birth control to make them equal with their male counterparts, but it’s empowering?
This little fitness experiment the Army was executing clearly did not work out. Good riddance. But a shame nobody will learn the right lesson.
Pregnancy is complicated in the army. If you get knocked up you have to have a family plan for deployment. Meaning you essentially sign away your kids to family - and if you don’t, you get kicked out. No joke.
The first problem is the military doesn’t understand they’re own intent. Is their intent to ensure each soldier can compete on an infantry level or to asses physical health.
The history of the pt test is to test health not combat affectiveness Therefor, women and men being different, have different standards of health - omg what a shock!!!
Now if the military wants mos physical tests to determine combat readiness than fine it should be the same across the board and be task oriented - not how many push ups or pull ups can you do. It should be a body drag or carry etc
Now with gear - women wearing gear that’s too big and not made for a female body is known to injury women. This not only causes a financial and medical strain, but it affects mission readiness
If the military really cared they would train men and women differently and better. Honestly PT is some ass hole supply sgt that’s like ok y’all let’s do sprints without stretching weeeeeee
If they were smart they would creat a physical fitness master sgt position that went to school to understand the physiology of working out for men and women. I lift heavy, and if I’d known then what I’d know now I’d been able to do those damn pull ups - and that’s a fact. I’m in better shape now hitting 40 because I learned how to workout for my body. If that msg went to every kid in the unit and determined how they should work out we would have a more capable force
