Wait....is the second part ground breaking? If a ballot is a “write-in” ballot, doesn’t that mean someone chose [insert name here] instead of the listed candidates?

The machines couldn’t do anything with those anyway....

The first part is election fraud....very clear.

You're right about the second part. As a poll worker, it's actually nice they have the diversion option, our machines (ES&S) don't have that and so at the end of the night we have the clear the hopper and manually sort out the write ins.

Even the first part being fraud isn't clear. RCV (Ranked Choice Voting) let's people choose a second, third, etc. choice candidate. I think Maine uses it. If no one gets over 50% of the first votes, people who's first votes were for candidates with lesser vote counts get their votes switched to their second candidate (or third, etc.)

Michigan doesn't use RCV, so it's not clear that any of the options on this screen matter.
