Texan here.
Went to both Microcenter and Bestbuy yesterday.... without a mask. Both stores had signs posted all over the front windows "MASKS REQURED TO ENTER".
-
Microcenter: I was the only one that entered and shopped without a mask. Walked around, did my shopping. Not one single word (or cross look) was said by anyone.
-
Bestbuy: On the way in, there was a greeter holding a mask as I walked close and said "Would you like a mask?". I blurted out "No", and just kept walking. I could hear him say in a sarcastic voice under is breath "Ok". Did my shopping without anyone bothering me, and no cross looks.
Fuck face masks.
My only comment is you will win more people over by also being polite. I think to the latter person you should have smiled and said "no thank you, I don't need it." And left it at that.
If they ask questions, you can always show them a picture of one of those masks boxes that tells you flat out that they don't protect against the Rona (https://photos.app.goo.gl/sVXYQGRvieMmDBf4A)
People have been super nice to me when I shop without a mask. I return their courtesy.
Yea, no need to be unnecessarily confrontational. You're not convincing anyone by being obnoxious, even if you are right. Plus, you make it harder for others not to wear a mask because they get branded as annoying, or worse.
In North TX. Have been doing same for whole time. Only 2 places were dicks about it. 7-11 and petsmart (only after not saying anything 6 months.)
I shop at Pet supplies plus now.
25% of 7-11 for me. Try the one down the street.
U on a list now.
Considering the climate and everything that can get a person on a list, OP was probably on a list months ago. Most of us probably are for one reason or another by now.
The list of winners. Am I right?
In the Dallas area, go to Eatzi's!
I just took this photo today: https://i.maga.host/EORP8ZV.png
It's good, but pricey. Gives me hope for Dallas.
Microcenter near me also has never given me trouble. I’ve gone in 3-4 times without a mask, and the person at the front always asks if I need one. I just say I can’t wear one and they don’t give me any problems. Thank God cause Microcenter is amazing.
Half price books, Potbelly's, and 1 7-11 have refused my money recently. Have not worn a mask since the first initial freak out. Shopped out of the city without a mask then.
