Back in the 1970s/80s I recall a general consensus of disdain toward the NEET/unwilling to work, we as a society did not think highly of slackers that sat around doing bong-hits all day. We certainly didn't like the idea of our tax dollars going to support their welfare/food stamps/Section 8, because we were working while their sedentary hedonism helped create the lawless debt-spiral situation we currently endure (as they screech on social-media to blame "boomers" for the self-inflicted despair their life of sloth brought upon them.)
They tried this shit for firefighters here in California. I was thinking with all the fires we have here I don't want some chick who can't lift up my dog no less me saving my ass!
