That's cool, I didnt know something like that existed, things have come a long way in the past decade or so. I remember trying to fuck with those starting chimneys. I switched to using an electric smoker about 10 years ago for things like jerky and meat sticks, gave up the charcoal barrel for pellets now.

I've used those chimneys, they're only useful when camping off grid.

The electric charcoal starters are pretty great. Its gets the coals going quick without the lighter fluid smell or taste.

Oddly enough electric charcoal starters are not new, they're just not common in spite of being used in Home Alone.

Oh shit, I didnt know that was a charcoal heater on the doorknob. I guess I didnt know what it was as a kid and assumed it was something only colder climates used.

I was a kid when that movie came out and didn't know what it was either. I had to ask my dad. He was big into grilling so of course he knew and pointed out that Kevin pulled it out of a grill in the garage.
