It always baffles me when black folks in America refer to themselves as “African- American” like ok, we’re you born in Africa? Well no I was born in Chicago, ok well have you ever been to Africa? Well no, but my great great great grandparents were slaves and they were from Africa. Ok but you and your parents and your grandparents have grown up here, gone to school and worked here, and ain’t none of y’all ever even been to Africa, so how exactly are y’all “African-American” because it sounds to me that you’re just straight up American but hey I’m just a silly peasant, what the hell do I know.
“African” is interchangeable with every other hyphened half Americans
