It's an advertisement for a hiking guide. There's not much of a market for this sort of thing in downtown LA so they made up a bullshit "controversy" to motivate retarded activists by convincing them that it's an act of rebellion against whitey.
I was thinking the same thing. I have some hiking areas that if I go over the summer in nice weather I know the trail system is relatively small, well-maintained and is Basically in the middle or just on the outskirts of a relatively decent size population center. I know wherever I go there I will have cell coverage and feel confident hiking with just say a bottle of water and cell phone.
Other places I go are a bit farther away from civilization it may not have good cell coverage. If I go to a place like that I always make sure that Myself or someone else if hiking in a group has a backpack with necessities such as a first aid kit, water, compass, etc.
The key when hiking is knowing what you need based on trail conditions, time of year, location, etc.
Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure that hiking is a personal choice. If people aren't choosing to do it, why is that anyone else's problem?
It's not, the article is about BIPOC groups organizing and going hiking. The headline is a bit sensationalized.

Great just what we need. Lots of inexperienced people roaming the forest. This wonβt end badly.
They sure can hike across borders.

lefty faggot equity pushers: "Why arent you guys hiking?"
black dude: "im black. we choose not to. not our thing."
guy in wheelchair: "motherfucker, cant you see im in a wheelchair?
BIPOC? I know POC, but uh, what's BIPOC??
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Basically the same broad meaning as POC, they're generally used interchangeably.
It's a way of saying that Asians have to sit in the back of the victim bus.
That $5 park entry fee is racist
Wait, so now walking up a hill is racist?
Is the problem that minorities need a paved path in order to hike?
It's not a problem.
