Shopped at a HEB (A Texas-Brand Grocery store) - signs on the door to wear a mask, blah, blah, blah..... No one bothered me & the surprise was there were only about 10 other Pedes with no masks in the store - no one dared to give us shit (the employees have looked the other way for months) - and we all shared a nod of the head when we ran across each other - the resistance to group think grows....

Yeah I always march in without a mask. People have stared but if you walk with a purpose and ignore them, you're fine. Anytime I have had to go into the city, I've done this –– in Austin too. Typically I'm out in rural hill country though (about an hr or so West of Austin) and nobody has done this mask bullshit out here.

Steps:

1.) Walk with a purpose.

2.) Pretend you're the only person in the entire store

3.) Pretend you didn't hear any question regarding masks i.e.) At checkout: "Sir, where is your mask?" "Oh, yeah, the weather is nice today!" "Sir, your mask?" "I was thinking about purchasing this AR-15 the other day. Saw it for only $1000. I was tempted."

Usually they'll just not bother because it isn't worth it and you're on your way out anyway.

4.) If all else fails, just leave and try someplace else. I have yet to need to do this step though.

Austin... from a Texas perspective, you are in 'occupied territory' - God's speed being on the front line!

Occasional visits but I don't live in Austin.

I also walk faster than most people so it's harder for those to keep up and cause me trouble too.
