In Portland, not really that much of an option with it being such a liberal crap hole.
I have to wear it when I go grocery shopping and out to eat - not much I can do as they’ll kick you out or call the cops. And cops here and actually willing to do it.
Have to play it safe sometimes - we own an adult foster care home and can't really afford being thrown out of store after store since we're also responsible for other people's lives and well-being.

In that case you should at least wear it incorrectly with your nose poking out, or something. Reluctant compliance is better than full surrender.
I wear it usually as close to my chin as a i can and always under my nose.
