Confirmed. Happened to me with Chinese Food in Nebraska and New Hampshire. I saw in the kitchen of one, and the Chef was even a Ginger.
The food was as expected - bland or awful. Both places managed to @#[email protected] up Egg Rolls, for crying out loud. They came out like some aged Hippy's version of a Vegetable Taco.

God that sounds horrible. You know the place is good if they scream the order to the cooks.
There is a checklist.
Cant understand what they are saying.
Kitchen staff is probably family.
Owners kids running around the dining room.
Restroom hall is packed with random supplies.
Waitress is the hostess.
If there isn't at minimum 4 out of 5, then most likely the place is going to suck.
Asian guy from an asian town here. You are on point.
Ha! Holy shit. This is actually true.
Can confirm.
Agreed
That’s great! The Thai restaurant up the street hits every one of those and they have awesome crispy pork noodle soup. 🌶 !!!
Their kids are running around the dining area, toys on the floor, grumpy looking gramma giving everyone the stink eye.
I loved Nebraska, but I had to stop eating both Asian food and seafood there.
Great donuts, though.
yeeeaaah I wouldn't trust seafood in Nebraska either. I know we have modern refrigeration and all but you know none of that is even possibly fresh.
That's pathetic.
I've made homemade Chinese food myself a couple of times, and mine came out very very tasty!
Especially my pot stickers!
