I had to see the SgtMaj one time for being "overly mean" to a Marine I was yelling at (he had violated orders). I never struck this Marine, only was yelling loudly. When talking with my SgtMaj he told me "Sgt Divvy, I'm not saying I agree with this, but I have to enforce the rules and you can't yell at Marines like that anymore". That was 2004. It runs all the way to the top. Oh and the person who reported me was a Major.
