Since the pharmaceutical industry is immune from liability I asked my doctor if he gives me the vaccine can I sue him under his medical malpractice insurance for $1 million if anything goes wrong.

He advised me it’s best I not take the vaccine

Which I get, completely. Usually there are multiple levels of testing and waiting for results. I don't want to take this because of how rushed it is. Also, there's no one to hold liable for issues. It's just "Take it and accept it" instead of "This has been properly tested and verified to not be harmful".

You and u/Olds77 have pretty much nailed this line of discussion. A vax company would be utterly stupid to accept liability, and if it was compelled to, the vaccines would be out of reach price-wise (the war chest to defend against the inevitable lawsuits needs to be built from somewhere and it sure as shit wouldn't come out of past profits). If the government forced price restrictions, the vax companies simply wouldn't produce a vaccine. There is simply too much risk. So I get the no liability thing. Still, that's not my problem, my problem is with my risk, and the risk my family takes on with this vaccine. My wife and I are in our 40's. We have a twenty-something and a teenager. My wife and I are extremely fit and healthy. I already had and beat Covid. She never got it. There's no reason for us to take it even if it did work (which is doubtful). My kids are another story entirely. I don't want either of them sitting on the couch in 30 years when an infomercial comes on and asks "Did you or a loved take the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine and have been diagnosed with or died from [whatever]? Please call our law offices immediately, you may be entitled to financial compensation."

1986 was the turning-point year:

The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) of 1986 (42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-1 to 300aa-34) was signed into law by United States President Ronald Reagan as part of a larger health bill on November 14, 1986. NCVIA's purpose was to eliminate the potential financial liability of vaccine manufacturers due to vaccine injury claims[1] to ensure a stable market supply of vaccines, and to provide cost-effective arbitration for vaccine injury claims.[2] Under the NCVIA, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) was created to provide a federal no-fault system for compensating vaccine-related injuries or death by establishing a claim procedure involving the United States Court of Federal Claims and special masters.[1][3]

Because, at the time, Pharma was threatening to stop producing all vaccines due to injury claims and awards going through the roof. Remember the millions awarded for the hot coffee I spilled on myself?

Or more recently, suing the power company for fires when every move they made to reduce the problem was refused by the 'regulators' and the tree huggers?
