Boomers did what they believed was the right thing to do; supporting minority “rights”, being kind to people who were poor or from other countries, “letting” women have more “choice.”
They aren’t some generation of psychopaths. They did what everyone else in human history has done, lived within what their culture deemed as “good.” The problem was that the culture itself was co-opted by the real psychopaths, something that was only possible with the rise of mass media. Didn’t help that the Boomers were raised in relative peacetime conditions.
Can you honestly say Millennials are any better? If anything, we’re worse. The Boomers had no conception of what would happen because of their ideas - theories sure, but no actual experience, which is the only thing people really respond to. We know what’s happened and we can see now where this is going but so many of us continue to follow their programming.
