This is my reasoning as to why $15 min wage or universal income wouldn’t work. I’ll never forget one of my first twitter fights (not on it anymore), when I said landlords, mechanics, plumbers etc will double their charges, everyone got a massive raise (public knowledge) so they’ll want a part of it. Someone said they would never do that, it would defeat the purpose. No shit Sherlock! They can do whatever they want and you will pay it. Also the people who were on welfare before will no longer qualify, so theyll just raise the maximum welfare requirements. (As opposed to nobody needing welfare anymore. Which would be their goal of getting people out of poverty). So a $15/hr worker would still need welfare. Again, defeating the purpose.
There's been lots of local examples of this happening. For example, a company was housing all their employees in a local area where the employees would pay rent for apartments. The company increased salaries by 20%. The rent then instantly went up 20%.
Same shit will happen with $15 min wage or universal income. Prices will increase, to basically cancel out the increase.
Anyone know how much it's gonna cost to pay these 1400 dollar checks back with interest? My guess is 50 to 75 thousand per 1400k check. It's like buying McDonald's with your last 20 dollars of credit....hope that shit was worth it.
Think that's bad? Just wait until your slumlord raises your rent on a shitty 1 bedroom ghetto apartment to $2800/month.
Same for a box of ammo.

I firmly believe minimum wage is in place to guarantee a minimum tax paid to government.
