This should be criminal. In a fair world whoever wrote the story, and the managing editor, would get jail time for this.
This was a fraudulent assertion that the President committed a crime, by a major publication, that they quietly covered up two months later. There needs to be a penalty for that.

There was a transcript within hours of the call and media still never owned up to the lie. The lie persisted through the second hoax impeachment. They are only owning up to the lie now because members of congress are trying to overturn an election in Iowa that a Republican won by just a handful of votes. They need to try to rewrite history because their standard right now is "only Dems are allowed to call elections into question and call for election officials to find examples of fraud and when Republicans do it, it's inciting an insurrection and a threat to our democracy."
This is the equivalent to being buried on the bottom of page 34.
