The problem is that we no longer get to choose. If they promised him the presidency for betraying us, he will at the very least get the nomination unless we can figure out how to stop it.
Flashback. The Romney Team changed the 2012 convention rules to prevent a Ron Paul convention fight over elected delegates. People that supported Ron Paul elected themselves as delegates and were ready to be released from voting for Romney if the convention opened up to the second ballot. The establishment shot themselves in the foot, and they'll do it again if they dare to push Pence forward.
He won't win. Might win a few state primaries, but won't ever get the nomination. Someone like Ron DeSantis has a much better shot if Trump doesn't run again.
