The government of Italy is kind of stupid. They brought about terrible outcomes for their people through a number of poor choices. Like importing cheap labor to keep the made in Italy label and like not fortifying their foods with vitamin supplements. These are among the reasons why they got hit hard and haven't emotionally recovered from it.
