So adorable!

I’m pregnant and due any day now. It scares the shit out of me, where things are going. But like my husband keeps reminding me, we can only control what we can control, and we have to focus on keeping our own family safe.

MsAnthropic 36 points ago +36 / -0

Congratulations, being pregnant is a miracle. Best of luck for you and your baby 🙂

Here’s my best tip - when your baby is about six months old, look into baby sign language. It’ll change your life.

tholins 20 points ago +20 / -0

Yup, we got one of those books for our shower! (Which we had in person, because most of my family is awesome).

It is amazing. After two miscarriages too, we’re very happy. Can’t wait to see my husband hold his child for the first time.

It’s an exciting time for you! Congratulations to you and your husband.

It really is. We’ve both waited a long time to get to this point, and we’re super excited to meet the little sprout.

MsAnthropic 4 points ago +4 / -0

It’s amazing - that’s so wonderful for both of you 🙂 And yes, anyone who’s had a miscarriage knows that “a clump of cells” is just a lie. You never forget what could have been. But it works out ok in the end, you’ve got such an exciting time ahead of you!

Agreed! I was full on communicating with both of my children before they could actually speak. This was amazing! We never had those mom and dad meltdown moments over “why won’t he/she stop crying? I don’t know what they want...”

2
MsAnthropic 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly - most frustration for both baby and parent is that the child can’t communicate what it wants! It was fantastic, made such a difference. We’ll never know but I’m certain it helped her speak much earlier, because she learned to communicate.

3
Norma_Bates 3 points ago +3 / -0

I can second the baby sign language! I was a nanny for two different families. One family used baby sign language one did not. The baby who could communicate with me was far less whiney and frustrated. It's pretty cool to see a baby tell you if they want drinks or food or that they want more of something.

14
Winged_Splinter [S] 14 points ago +14 / -0

Very true. Its easy to forget what is truly important when the world around you is crumbling. Personally, since the 6th of January, I have kept myself away from politics as much as I can as the added stress has proven to be hazardous to my health.

Take care of yourself and your baby. The less stress on you and baby, the better your delivery is going to go.

11
tholins 11 points ago +11 / -0

I was trying to avoid it, but a big portion of this directly affects my industry in a major way. Unfortunately I have to pay attention.

But yes, I’ve been trying to keep the stress to a minimum! I have been enjoying the meltdowns women are having on pregnancy forums over COVID. Like... just go outside, just have dinner with your parents, you aren’t going to die. It’s hilarious how much I get yelled at for telling people they aren’t going to die.

6
HockeyMom4Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

How dare you tell me I am not going to die and things will be okay! REEE!😂

6
tholins 6 points ago +6 / -0

Seriously. People get so pissed off! I had several Internet-yell at me for citing CDC statistics... women are dumb sometimes.

8
HockeyMom4Trump 8 points ago +8 / -0

Your husband is right. Focus on what you can control within your own home.

Enjoy your baby. They grow fast!

Marielle_Redclaw 3 points ago +3 / -0

Having a child is the greatest thing I have ever done. It was rough at times, all the things happening to my body, but worth every sore ankle and weird craving. When the nurse put my little girl in my arms the first time, and she immediately started feeding, this strong alpha gal wept uncontrollably. 😭 Even my tough boy husband wiped away a couple tears. I pretended not to notice. 🙂

Yeah, it happens thousands of times a day around the world, but when it’s your turn it’s just the best. She’s just a source of light and joy, soon to be doubled this July when her sister arrives.

We plan on having four.

4
tholins 4 points ago +4 / -0

I’d love to have four! Sadly I think we’re too old for that, unless I get lucky with twins at some point.

It’s been a rough nine months, but I know it’s going to be worth it in the end.

I had one of those once. He's now 25 and 1200 miles away. Enjoy these days with her, you'll miss them when they're gone.

12
MAGAsJustBegun 12 points ago +12 / -0

Cool story with me... I'm 26, and LITERALLY live in the house across the street from my parents!

Over there daily for coffee and hanging out.

My older brother lives a mile down the street. Love that we're all so close.

5
HockeyMom4Trump 5 points ago +5 / -0

I hope my boys grow up to do the same thing!

4
Marielle_Redclaw 4 points ago +4 / -0

Same here. My parents are ten minutes away.

3
MAGAsJustBegun 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's the way to be. I'm so thankful we're close like this.

I think I've convinced them to want to move to a middle / southern state. We're New Yorkers. We never thought we ever care to move. We hate where we live now!

Ready to be in a free state! Sick of this commie BS here.

2
Spawnlingman 2 points ago +3 / -1

Thats heaven friend. My parents ghosted me 9 years ago over religion.

1

2
thebassdude 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have spent my entire life within a 50 mile radius of where I was born. My Dad lives in his grandmother's house next door to where we both grew up, and where my mother and grandmother died. My father's brother died about a mile away, and my grandfather about seven miles away. I am the old generation now.

soysaucenuts 20 points ago +20 / -0

That’s why lefties hate family and children and religion. You see a bigger picture. You see something worth working hard for. You see more than just yourself. Lefties get their power from selfish narcissists who only live for physical pleasure and comfort.

WenOli311 15 points ago +15 / -0

This is what it’s all about fren! ❤️ Fun age my granddaughter is 4 yrs. going on 16 total attitude!

11
Winged_Splinter [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yeah, she started walking 12 days before her first birthday and hasn't stopped since. She's a very independent child and it annoys my wife cause as far as cuddles are concerned, nope, that stage has passed and did so when she was 5 months.

12
TheUsurper 12 points ago +12 / -0

The cuddling will return. There are no cuddles during the independence phase!

5
WenOli311 5 points ago +5 / -0

Nooo, I’m with your wife I wouldn’t be ready to give up the cuddling. Maybe it’s a lil girl thing, my sons were both mamas boys so they let me cuddle them for a couple of years! My granddaughter still likes big hugs but she’s all over the place she can’t be still!

10
Winged_Splinter [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

I have no idea. Everything is pretty much new for both of us as she's our first. She will yell daddy and run to me for a hug and kiss, but the majority of the time, she is only trying to get you to pick her up or hold her because she is a master manipulator. Personally, I love that about her.

Have you started punishing her for her racism yet?

7
Winged_Splinter [S] 7 points ago +8 / -1

You know, she used to be exempt, because she is mixed between white(gasp) and Laotian. But I believe Asians are now considered white. I'm having trouble keeping up with which groups are ok to hate.

JimmyJam 9 points ago +9 / -0

OMG how can she just lay there with her bunny when the world ONLY HAS 10 years before the tides overtake us and the atmosphere burns us all alive due to cattle ranch emissions?!!

As a parent of a 7-month old, I understand. You want to protect the innocence forever. My children remind me that so long as they’re okay, all is good. I always say that becoming a parent opens up a new area of love you never knew you had.

My daughter is coming up on her first birthday. Her sister inside me will be born late July. I keep up a good front with her, but inside I am in utter despair for my family’s future.

Was on a conservative site this weekend and some of the old farts were talking about how they’re glad they’re old and won’t have to live through the coming horrors of Cultural Revolution 2.0.

At no time did they express any care for the fate of their children or grandchildren. They just don’t care. They never cared. They thought Posterity was a new type of Hot Pocket. It’s disgusting.

1
Winged_Splinter [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I completely understand. I'll find myself going to a political site, usually ends up being the gateway pundit and its article after article about "Oh, we have the proof"! or "Conservative family protesting at the people's capitol arrested and held without bail for over a month"

Yeah, its getting bad and is only going to get worse because the left, the establishment and big tech now know that even though the patriots are armed to the teeth, the vast majority are lazy and are too comfortable with their lives to even remotely consider fighting in a revolution.

I honestly don't know where we go from here, but it appears a lot like the movie Idiocracy.

1
starch4thewin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yup. It is unbelievably common. Meanwhile those of us with kids have to try to figure out how to get ourselves and our kids through this. I have two young sons, and as far as I can tell, we still have options for how to guide them. It is gonna get rough, but it will be doable.

1
Winged_Splinter [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ha. Yeah, been there. My daughter never stopped. Try Jason Aldean: Got what I got if you are trying to put her down for a nap. It works.

2
skywalk 2 points ago +2 / -0

Will do. Morgan Wallen just did the trick again. I got that awesome sweat mark every parent knows when baby is out cold. Now to put her to bed without wakey!

1
Winged_Splinter [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

HA! One thing they don't tell you about parenting is you have no choice but to train as a ninja. My daughter seems to also have this thing with Phil Collins music. Maybe its cause he's bald and looks like an overgrown baby, I have no idea, but she seems to love the music.

Love this, my daughter is 27 now, and expecting her second child next month. I remember moments like your picture, like it was yesterday. My favorite was when she was about 3 to 5 and I would get home from work and she would drop whatever she was doing and yell “Daddy’s home” and go nuts.

2
Censorddit 2 points ago +2 / -0

As a family man, wife and three kids. One about as young as yours. I'm a disaster.

I am hoping America wakes the fuck up and realizes the dangers. Before I have to go fucking ballistic for their safety.

Isn’t that the truth fellow patriot... I pray my daughter is able to grow up with both parents showing her the way, but I fear I end up in a re-education camp, or go down swinging.

I will say, after a long day seeing the smile on your child’s face makes things ok even if it’s only a moment before you remember where we’re headed as a nation.

2
Imthebest 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hey man, adorable daughter! My daughter also loves bunnies. In fact, that bunny looks like the one I've been trying to find. Is that one purple? The ears look just like the one I've been looking for. Could you share a link or where you got it from please? It would mean a lot!

Specifically, if it's this one in purple, that would mean a lot to me, haha

2
Winged_Splinter [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'll keep my eye open and if I find one back in stock I'll let you know.

That is insane. I was Christmas shopping for my daughter and came across that bunny and was like - that thing is a adorable, bought it and didn't think anything else about it. Now its sold out everywhere. Very odd.

2
Winged_Splinter [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Here is where I bought it and yes, its the exact same one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VGHRN7Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

However, it seems to be out of stock. Sorry.

2
Imthebest 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks so much man for looking into this for me! Really appreciate it. My daughter loves the purple version of it (from one of their books), but I couldn't find it. I thought that perhaps it was purple from your picture, but alas, the coral colored one. Glad though that she loves it! I'm going to hope that they make the purple version someday. Thanks again for confirming with me! Take care!
