The guy was hacked. His BTC was effectively stolen. That is not the same as being seized. Seizure is when the govt calls up your bank and says your money belongs to them now. To get your BTC the government needs to act in a way you have the power to protect against.
Eh its not as bullet proof as you think. They can block you from crypto trade exchanges blocking you from exchanging for fiat. And buying items direct with crypto is hit or miss at best....so in essence yes they can seize those too.
They can't block you from selling it for fiat to other people. Nor can they stop you from making purchases with it, or trading it to someone else to cash out from an exchange.
Monero allows you to anonymize your transactions. All the tools are there today. And tomorrow promises decentralized exchanges.
Bisq is good to use. But yea it's a pain in the ass to trade offline but certainly doable. Nowhere accepts crypto except for web services and VPN providers. It's a shame.
