It's the reason why films and music From the past is so distinguishable. The 60's 70s 80s 90s each had their own specific sound and aesthetic and "feel", but pretty much everything from 2000 onwards looks and sounds and tastes and feels the same. 20 years of the same. Boring, bland and played out. Only thing that's changed in the last few years is the level of political bullshit awkwardly crammed into everything. I guess that's what we get for praising the talentless and celebrating mediocrity.

When the Beatles first auditioned for Decca, they were shut down because the producers told them guitar music was on it's way out. The Beatles didn't hit it big out of nowhere. They spent 8 hours a day playing clubs in Germany before anyone in America knew their name. That can't happen today. The talent is better than ever today, but the effort and principles are not. Again, I hate to keep bringing up the Beatles, but nobody on Earth could call them sellouts. In fact, they were literally the opposite. They weren't the best musicians, especially early on, so they had to write and record their own music, which was unheard of then. And when they quit playing tours, they were at the peak of their fame. They couldn't hear themselves on stage and their live music was horrible, often times John would sing wrong lyrics on purpose because nobody could hear. But this free time was now used to turn the studio into an instrument, paving the way for every future musical act to follow.
Now we have rapists singing about wet pussies and winning song of the year. People laugh at hair metal, but that shit is 10000x better than anything on a pop station today.
Basically they just rehash the same shit from prior decades. Even our style is boring. Businesses don't want to take risks.

The last few years may have been a little more flat but still in the last 20 years music genres fashion trends and pop culture have had their fads that came and went. You are just getting older like the rest of us. Main stream stuff has been more flat but there is so much content being made by so many people it's impossible to keep up. Alot of people on here just don't pay attention to what is going on with that stuff so it all seems like it hasn't. For me music is like that because I don't listen to new or popular music. I don't mean music hasn't changed in 20 years I just don't pay attention.

And then they pay to make sure they are awarded at all these fake award ceremonies, which most people know now, hence the big drop in viewers.
