You have places like Springfield, Amherst, Holyoke that rely be vote Democrat but once you get out of those major cities it seems to be much more evenly matched or at least conservative. I think it is similar to the case how New York City,Albany, etc basically decide elections for New York State.
I live in the Capital District of NY. Albany County is deep, deep blue. Saratoga county is purple. Rensselaer county is pink, but the GOP in this county is run by a bunch of morons. Same for Albany county. Schenectady County is red. That's about all I know.
