It's anecdotal but I have a friend who is transitioning from male to female. Huge Conservative Libertarian Trump supporter. She loves to debate others and destroy their narratives. Growing up she loved to wear dresses and always joked she was a lesbian with a penis. I'm very comfortable calling her by her new name and using she pronouns but she's cool if others from the past don't accept it and call her by her male name.
