The Maori entered New Zealand and wiped out the Moriori. Later the Maori took Europeans into some of their tribes, but there were cases where the European tribe member talked negatively about the Maori tribal chief, so they were put to slavery. The Maori were industrious with elaborate forts, housing, manufactured items, agriculture and so forth, so they had a use for the labour.
