They adopted it because of white empathy, not because it's true. Any religion that had aligned with our genetics would have taken off, that's just the one that happen to be created at the right time and place to take off. Black people are significantly more Christian than white people nowadays, and they have an absurd crime rate. Conversely, white atheists and white Christians have the same crime rate. Religion means nothing.
