One year ago today NJ locked us down. "15 days to stop the spread" they said. My girl lost both her jobs that day and it has been a financial and mental struggle ever since.
"This virus is a killer" they said. My father just got it. He's 65, diabetic, has a pacemaker, and is on the donor list for a kidney. I was I little scared for him at first. He spent 2 hours at the hospital for an IV and is feeling much better now. Still has a bad cough and can't go to work for another week, but otherwise fine.
So glad we destroyed our nation, state, and countless lives for this shit.
Don’t you mean scamaversary?
My parents spent the past year living in fear, calling family names, screaming at random people in public, reporting their neighbors to police, and crying about someone's hypothetical dead grandma. They have gotten so scared they are now wearing two masks and a face shield.
They still don't have the kung flu, but they do now both have very serious cases of strep throat. But somehow the bacteria got into my mom's lungs and she is very seriously ill, way more sick than the rona makes people in her age group. It's a fucking mystery how that happened...
But hey--they don't have the varus! And isn't that what's truly important?
... Ya'll remember how if we did everything they asked we could maybe hope to keep deaths down to a couple million? When did it become "just one life"?
Prayers for your parent's health as well as for them so find clarity in their thinking.
My parents tries to live a normally as NJ would allow. They took very few precautions. My mother got vaccinated bc she works in a public school. My father got vaccinated by the advice of his doctors. 10 days after shot number 1 he was vomiting, short of breath, and coughing Uncontrollably with the rice rabies.
