Well, some people did try to warn the public to not politicize the military....way back when we went all-volunteer.

Best start to getting yourself a bunch of legions that aren't beholden to the public is to create a special caste of people who go into the legions. How many military families are multi-generational by now?

And the cherry on top is to have them get harassed by segments of the public...over the course of a few generations...oh my, did that do the trick!

Oh well, live and learn.
