Diversity is UNIFORMITY.

When they say "Unity" they mean conformity.

When they say Diversity, they mean Dis-Unity.

It is quite literally the opposite of Unity, and they specifically mean the opposite of Unity. Because if people were aiming for Unity, we would be able to take care of our cooperate overlord problem pretty quickly.

It's like an ant farm, but instead of walls, they keep as many factions as possible fighting among themselves to keep them from spilling out of the cage. Keep adding new colonies to the mix, and the war rages eternally. All the sides of woke-ness are fighting to get their slice of the victimhood pie and set the "rules" for how everyone else is expected to behave. It's not as violent a war as it could be, it's a raging ideological war that keeps them so confused and angry that they don't even realize the strings are being pulled.

Now they are being given a target. They feed them week and injured members of another colony to get the taste for blood. Given the right triggers they will snap, and the ideological war will become a purge.
