I came to this country when I was 8, from a European country. I had to be medically tested, we waited for years for our green card, we had to prove financial independence, stability, and had to be sponsored by a US citizen willing to put their last 5 years of tax returns under scrutiny.
We did it all because we love and respect this country, citizenship meant something and we earned it. Don't throw all immigrants in the same bucket as illegals, I'm a very loyal pede.
