I knew a girl who was left leaning but normal, long hair, make up, passionate about equality but still loved to have fun - drinking/yoga/Groupon activities...she fell into the LGBT rabbit hole. Shaved her head, dyed eyebrows and pits blue, lost all old friends, slept with 20+ people, doesn't drink, only goes to "queer" yoga now. She is a shell, the further left she's gone the more miserable she has become. I see the same emptiness in Ellen Page's eyes that I saw in my former friends.
