That is precisely what needs to be taught, the chivalric and brilliant foundational values the United States had that makes our nation the most immeasurable in the world. That is genuinely amazing my brethren, I am so proud, and am delighted for your milestone! That is significant!!
My return to faith was via AA/NA and its philosophy of a higher power and the need to surrender to it to recovery. It was far easier for me to see my higher power was Jesus Christ and he alone who could heal me. I've walked alongside other addicts who just couldn't surrender to Jesus for their own reasons and few stayed sober. Both the founders of AA were committed Christians. It was like a Road to Damascus moment for me too. Sick, beaten, lonely and tired and I just picked up the phone dialled the 24 hr hotline spoke to a lovely elderly lady and a fellow Alcoholic. No judgement from her just love. I felt like I'd come back to my family (which of course I had) It sounds so simple and yet it took 24 years of slowly trying to kill myself to finally get it (I'm a slow learner hehe)
That is truthfully a mesmerizing experience. I am in great delightment that you were able to overcome your adversity in giving yourself to Jesus Christ. It makes me think of the bible verse of Jesus telling the Pharisees at Matthews home that he desires mercy, not sacrifice. If we ask for Gods mercy, and give ourselves to Him, it is more empowering than anything else I have ever encountered. I am also astounded that the woman you spoke of was so kind. Thank you for sharing this!
