No, the CDC specifically said masks dont do shit:

Cdc:

During March 1–December 31, 2020, state-issued mask mandates applied in 2,313 (73.6%) of the 3,142 U.S. counties. Mask mandates were associated with a 0.5 percentage point decrease (p = 0.02) in daily COVID-19 case growth rates 1–20 days after implementation and decreases of 1.1, 1.5, 1.7, and 1.8 percentage points 21–40, 41–60, 61–80, and 81–100 days, respectively, after implementation (p<0.01 for all) (Table 1) (Figure). Mask mandates were associated with a 0.7 percentage point decrease (p = 0.03) in daily COVID-19 death growth rates 1–20 days after implementation and decreases of 1.0, 1.4, 1.6, and 1.9 percentage points 21–40, 41–60, 61–80, and 81–100 days, respectively, after implementation (p<0.01 for all). Daily case and death growth rates before implementation of mask mandates were not statistically different from the reference period.

So these shithole labor unions are actively spreading LIES about what the CDC happens to be saying today.

It's not enough that the CDC is reverses itself regularly and is completely unreliable.

2
Johnfox13 2 points ago +2 / -0

Doesn’t that imply they helped?

9
Litterboxer1 9 points ago +9 / -0

It does, but like less than 2% I guess. Until the last sentence, which makes no sense. Probably have to read the complete study to see.

4
Cantshadowbanthemall 4 points ago +4 / -0

No. Specifically that they did nothing. When any effect is less than the margin of error, you have no effect.

1
teen_burger_combo 1 point ago +2 / -1

No, as it is within the margin of error it cannot be supported.

38
usdodsgssog 38 points ago +38 / -0

Perfect opportunity to shove the CDC's study that 'masks have had ZERO impact' up their commie asses.

8
BatmanForTrump 8 points ago +8 / -0

I mean if 2 masks block only 93% why stop there, I'd say 5 masks should really do the trick

4
ProphetOfKek 4 points ago +4 / -0

Im a big fan of wrapping my head in a plastic bag.

29
Surfsup 29 points ago +29 / -0

93% of particles? Maybe, but two masks block 0% of virus particles because they're too small.

18
Data 18 points ago +18 / -0

They block "droplets" down to a certain size. We're supposed to believe the virus hitches a ride on these "droplets", but that would only be true of an infected/sick individual. In which case they should be (and likely are) at home recovering or in a hospital receiving care, where the presence or absence of a mask is meaningless in terms of public health risk.

The benefit of mask wearing by the general (read: healthy) public is within the margin of error, statistically speaking.

11
Surfsup 11 points ago +11 / -0

You don't ever contract a virus from droplets anyway. Use your brain. When was the last time people in public spot on you?

You get the virus from airborne molecules the mask doesn't stop. In other words, one, two or ten masks stop 0% of these. It can block 100% of droplets. Who gives a shit.

3
loveshock 3 points ago +3 / -0

It is hospital protocol to wear a mask around certain diseases that spread by droplet...

...when you are performing patient care and up in their face.

Not when you are walking down the hall outside their room.

2
Surfsup 2 points ago +3 / -1

Those aren't viruses, thanks for playing.

Cantshadowbanthemall 1 point ago +1 / -0

The virus isn't airborne, it's people sneezing into their hand on on the oranges at the market and people touching that surface or rating that orange without washing it / their hands with soap

9
sustainable_saltmine 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yeah they literally want you to believe when you exhale you're spraying a fog of virus particles everywhere. Not just in mucus when you sneeze or cough but literally that every exhale you're expelling virus particles like a flamethrower. That's not how it works. Viruses gather in mucus because mucus is often containing white blood cells that fight the viruses

2
morememesplz 2 points ago +2 / -0

LMAO what an image - flamethrower!

7
Olds77 7 points ago +7 / -0

Thank you for pointing that out. These mask mandates don't seem to correlate with any reduction in virus transmission, but hey such a random fact sounds "sciencey" if you ignore all the other convenient facts.

7
sustainable_saltmine 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's literally to placate chicken littles into feeling like they can do "anything" to stop the spread and empower people to tattle on each other like good Karens

14
Tweedlethree 14 points ago +15 / -1

And 93% of fresh air reaching your nose. If we don't die of the vaccine we will suffocate to death. Thank you Dr Fauci. P.S. Bacterial Pneumonia is a killer too.

Masks cause severe disorientation for people with breathing problems. Lower blood oxygen has a negative effect on everything. Even trivial things like people with glasses being blinded by steam from the mask can cause accidents.

1
kt524 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lower blood oxygen has a negative effect on everything

Including less oxygen in the brain making people even more stupid and manipulable.

CDC says NFL, NCAA, NBA, SNL, BLM, Antifa, all movies and shows are immune to the virus and do not have to wear them. CDC says if you try to go to church the law should be called and doors locked.

FUCK THE CDC. It is a political organization. Nothing more.

I got the same exact text but from Pat. My response was:

“The CDC stated wearing a mask has shown to reduce the spread of covid by less than 2%. Why would I wear a mask that reduces the spread by less than 2% against a virus that has a survival rate of 99%? To say the least, you can count on me to not wear two masks. ”

4
Sl0re10 4 points ago +4 / -0

Particle =/= viruses

3
Kweebecker 3 points ago +3 / -0

A mask could block 100% of particles and still be effectively useless to most of the population.

The moment you touch your mask, your eyes, your ears, or anywhere made slightly damp by the mask such as your cheeks, you are now just as infectious as someone who doesn't wear a mask.

And no one is going to convince me that, barring certain professionals, they can go any length of time without touching their face. Most people re-use their masks! Lemme tell you, hospitals would be a lot richer and have a whole lot less medical waste, if reusing masks were even within three city blocks of the ballpark of reasonable.

3
sustainable_saltmine 3 points ago +3 / -0

I will pledge to relentlessly mock people who voluntarily wear any masks, gaiters or face shields

RPOZ28 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
Moose0528 2 points ago +2 / -0

93% of particles of what size? Most people don’t understand how specific the data is on all PPE that is rated. OSHA has pretty stringent requirements for testing and approval.

Take the standard N95 mask for example. In order to have that specification it must block 95% of particles down to a certain size, in that case I think it is something like .03 microns. So if 100 particles sized .03 microns come into contact with the material, only 5 of them can pass through and it still be a successful test.

The coronavirus particles are .06 microns. So if 100 coronavirus particles came into contact with an N95 mask, all 100 of them could pass through and it still be a successful test.

That is for a mask that has had rigorous testing done in controlled environments. Now tell me what good your double masks made out of an old shirt are going to do.

Edit: .3 microns not .03

My question is: Which direction? In or out?

2
Fenuuk 2 points ago +2 / -0

fuck off faggot springs to my mind

2
BillGall2 2 points ago +2 / -0

The science on this is that the Covid virus particles are so small that they pass through even the best masks. Wearing a mask to stop Covid virus is like putting up a chain link fence to stop mosquitos.

2
nothingberg 2 points ago +2 / -0

7% of the air is 100% infected with virus

Congratulations, 7 out of 100 breaths....AAaand...you've got COVID

2
Filo76 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hey Jess, why not wrap saran wrap around your face. That blocks 100% of particles from escaping into the air. Will you pledge to saran wrap your face?

What does the 95 in N95 mask mean?

3
slangin_paint 3 points ago +3 / -0

95 thumbs up from Dr. Fauci! But he also gives it 75 thumbs down.

2
TwitterIsTrash 2 points ago +2 / -0

Did you know that people who double mask have a 93% chance of brain damage? Oh sorry, I meant 100%

1
DeepSouthPatriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cloth masks don't provide any protection which is why they aren't worn in a medical setting.

Even N95 masks have to be ridiculously well fit to gain 90 % efficacy

1
PocketPosse 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just think about the test they would need to construct to make this claim meaningful for real life. They probably passed an aerosol through two masks in an airtight tube for a couple minutes. A far cry from wearing a wet saturated mask for 8 hours with a fluffy beard that needs scratched every 5 to 10 minutes.

1
jubyeonin 1 point ago +1 / -0

The CDC is a government welfare organization that pumps out Welfare Science.

You could wear twenty masks and you'd still inhale viruses because it turns out when a virus is smaller than the fibers in the mask it can just pass through the fuckin' fibers. These masks can't even stop visible smoke particles from getting through, you think they can stop something that's ten thousand times smaller?

1
GodDamnedEngineer 1 point ago +1 / -0

IF I HAD A KERNAL FOR EVERY LIBTARD I COME ACROSS I MIGHT BE EMPLOYABLE BY GREEN GIANT.

1
necrosexy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Notice it doesn't indicate how effectively it blocks the covid19 virus specifically (spoiler: it doesn't).

1
FredRedd 1 point ago +1 / -0

Wait, aren’t the masks called “N95” because they’re supposed to block 95% of particles, viruses, bacteria, etc...?

So wearing two masks actually reduces their efficacy? Well that’s brilliant.

1
