What will they do when everyone can generate their own power from windmills and solar panels?

What will they do

Use violence, same as always.

Communists have only two buttons: violence and lies.

Black people literally cannot absorb as much sunlight as white people due to melanin, therefore are owed reparations for excess solar privilege enjoyed by wh*tes

This reminds me of a petition in jest by Bastiat to convince the French Parliament to force windows closed to help the candle industry.

We are suffering from the ruinous competition of a rival who apparently works under conditions so far superior to our own for the production of light that he is flooding the domestic market with it at an incredibly low price; for the moment he appears, our sales cease, all the consumers turn to him, and a branch of French industry whose ramifications are innumerable is all at once reduced to complete stagnation. This rival, which is none other than the sun, is waging war on us so mercilessly we suspect he is being stirred up against us by perfidious Albion (excellent diplomacy nowadays!), particularly because he has for that haughty island a respect that he does not show for us.

They will never allow that, I've seen the government crack down on small hydroelectric turbines people use to get all the power they need while not being connected to the grid. Turbines that works really well without affecting the nature in any way, yet the government claims it does.

They tear down solar panels, for ridiculous reasons like their color "How dare you have black solar panels on your roof, in this neighborhood all roofs must be red".

Wind mills just ain't realistic without massive and expensive battery packs, and even if you do get that and goes off grid... knock knock, we're from the government, how dare you stay of the grid.

Socialists hate independence.

9
Littleirishmaid 9 points ago +9 / -0

When we were building our second house, which was atop a large hill, the winds were fierce. So, I looked into a small windmill/turbine in the town next door that sold alternative energy products. They told me not to buy one. They sold them, but told me not to buy one.

I stopped by today and the owners were talking about what they might do when the authorities show up and try to close their doors.

They own the building, so they are allowed to enter and exit as they please.

When I was there, they had just decided to take the doors off the hinges. Cant lock what isnt there?

Food was good. They are only able to take cash and Venmo. Clearly havent been planning for this level of fuckery and abuse by the powers that be.

I saw an older guy come in and hand them $100, tell them to keep up the good work, and leave.

I double paid for the food I bought.

I plan on going back this week.

56
bidensmissingbrain 56 points ago +56 / -0

When I was there, they had just decided to take the doors off the hinges. Cant lock what isnt there?

They'll board up the entrances in the middle of the night.

I'll bet you by the end of the month, at least one of the owners will be in jail.

EDIT: Y'know what, fuck my previous comment. I hope they do fight and do well. Good on you for going there and hope you do go back. We need more people with brass balls doing what's necessary to show we won't go down without a fight.

CarpenterRichard 22 points ago +22 / -0

Are they worried about the water getting turned off next? I would be.

23
learntocode 23 points ago +23 / -0

Huh, I didnt hear talk of that.

The owners appear to be older millenials, maybe of Armenian or Persian descent, clearly raised here in the USA and they seem to be caught in a public relations situation they are not 100% ready for (who would be?) along with having their business under an extraordinary amount of government and cultural pressure.

Reading the news about their loss of a health department permit for being "a publice health nuisance" it really has made me think: what evidence is there that what happens at this bar and grill is a threat or was a threat to life, property, publicbhealth or the peace that earned the label "nuisance"? If the health department labelled tooth brushing a nuisance based on unsound science and biased emotional arguments - they could do, what, exactly? Nobody has gotten sick from patronizing the place - surely the health department or city would have locked onto any reports of this. A "nuisance" that is not in fact a nuisance, operating according to all laws, rules, and zoning until some insane government takings from a year ago.

It just begs the question: who the fuck are the people at the LA County Public Health Department?! Who writes these stupid hocus pocus rules? Who enforces them? How many enforcers? Where are their offices? What rules and guidelines and budget govern their behaviors?

There are sidewalk chicken friers operating today, as they have for many months, on the corner of 7th and Alvarado in Los Angeles - some central american mami frying chicken in open air vats beside an overflowing trash can, with no bathroom or sink for her or her customers to use, with live rats darting between trash piles and homeless tents. Literal filth and disease. But the Tin Hornbis where the attention gets paid?

The politics on this need to be re-oriented to protect the petit bourgeouise of this County. I am a little surprised no conservatives w money have gotten together to game this whole thing out to rip the careers of Lockdowniks and Branch Covidians in the Health Department to pieces.

5
RegularAmerican 5 points ago +5 / -0

They're Armenian? Nice my dad is Armenian. I don't live close to burbank and I hate going that close to LA. But I think I'm gonna have to visit Tin Horn Flats and lend them some support.

4
learntocode 4 points ago +4 / -0

I dont want be a dick, but the two guys managing/running the joint and the young woman working with them - all three looked American raised Armenian AF. Some people get pissed if you get it wrong guessing backgrounds or get pissed that you vocalize it. Id bet dinner tonight they are Armenian. Their accent was Glendale hills Armo, USA all the way.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

In my experience, people tend to be standoffish in the turk/armo/ruso/azerpheres because they aren't sure if you're gonna get all crazy on them or something because some people are like that. I remember this russian bartender who looked Armenian got really like nervous and defensive when I asked him if he was Armenian. He's like "oh no I'm russian what do you want from me bro?" I was like it's all good I'm only asking cuz I'm Armenian and you look kind of Armenian. He was like ohh ok I thought you were going to assume I'm a turk haha. This was in pasadena like 10 years ago. I miss those bars even tho I don't drink anymore. They're probably all closed or have become speakeasies.

That’s about their only option if they want to continue living in commiefornia and effect change. Voting definitely isn’t going to accomplish anything, not it the post democracy era.

15
pushbackv2 15 points ago +15 / -0

That's a high bar, but I like your thinking.

30
bidensmissingbrain 30 points ago +31 / -1

I mean, god forbid it does. If a liberal bastion like California is seen as reaching it's breaking point of what it will put up with, it's just going to signal to everywhere else it's time to stand up.

But if the pushback is suppressed, nobody knows and everyone thinks everyone else is just going along with it. It's a way to make you feel alone and outnumbered. To make you feel like you really are the madman, that you really are in the wrong.

31
ShyRipley 31 points ago +32 / -1

That's why this place is so precious. It is my daily dose of knowing I am not alone and outnumbered, I am not the madman, I am not in the wrong.

7
SpaceForceZulu 7 points ago +7 / -0

All the Californians like to talk about how proud they are, so if that’s the case grab your rifle, grab your friends with rifles, and go stand by that guy’s building and don’t let the authorities near his utilities or doors.

If you guys won’t, maybe the teenagers that were ballsy enough to shovel the sand out of their skatepark will come down and help.

0
Edial 0 points ago +2 / -2

People say this a lot that california is supposedly majority red, but the shit that comes out of there daily says otherwise. I'm still of the opinion that commiefornia sinking into the ocean would greatly benefit the world and country with how lost it seems to be.

1

3
MAGAsJustBegun 3 points ago +3 / -0

Idk man... I know massive cheating goes on, but the way I'm treated in NY for my MAGA yard signs VS how someone is treated for their BLM and Biden signs... Well, a BIG difference to say the least lol

2
DiscoverAFire 2 points ago +2 / -0

Only takes a loud 5% of assholes to do that though. Conservatives respect your right to your opinion and to stick whatever dumb sign in your yard you want - even the "far right" 5%. The "Far left" 5% feels it is their duty to attack you for expressing views they don't accept.

Makes them look bigger, but doesn't actually mean they are.

2
MAGAsJustBegun 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's a fact. I was just watching a video of antifa communists fighting neo Nazis at some rally years back.

It was actual neo Nazis, but maga, and the comments are all like "why do the cops just stand there and let them carry Nazi flags, wtf!?!"

Uhhh, do you not understand what living in a free country means?

It means no matter how hated or unpopular your idea is, you have the right to peacefully express yourself, and the right to not be stopped.

I hate how some people out there are truly against freedom of speech. They want to outlaw "hate speech", and that equates to whatever the unpopular ideology is at the time.

Making hate speech laws is a slippery slope. If we gained enough power, we'd outlaw the democratic party for its evil history.

That's wrong. But if they start down that slippery slope, I'm sure as hell not gonna be a victim.

they will do what they did here in Australia, you can have solar and wind generation on your house but it has to be tied into the grid, for use as supplementary only, if they shut the grid down you get no electricity just like anyone else
