How is Trump promoting a vaccine that was developed under his leadership and directly because of his efforts in any way a surprise for you? It is, like it or not, an accomplishment from his administration's Warp Speed operation. What did people here honestly think he was going to do? Say that it is shit and avoid it at all costs?
I expected that, like all good leaders: once it was shown to be shit, and less efective than our bodies' own ability to fight the sniffles, that Trump would just fucking drop it - and certainly not double down on pushing it and giving cover to the left for mandating the poison .. you know, like any normal person would do.
That's what I expected ...
Here is the rule of life:
People play up their accomplishments and play down their failures.
As long as the general narrative is that the vaccine is good, Trump is going to take credit (rightfully) for getting it done and approved in record time. He'll also play up its effectiveness.
If the general narrative was negative towards the vaccine, Trump would have either played down his involvement or completely ignored it.
Also, your logic is flawed. Encouraging people to take it does not provide any cover for mandating it.
