Yeah. It still appears to change in apparent size, but the side-by-side makes the compositing look unlikely. I'm wondering if they ran some other filter (skew correction or something) that's triggering the uncanny valley response, or if it's just garbage compression.
He also appears to slide into place on his final approach. Which might be motion smoothing of shitty compression.

At 2:45 in the side by side, you can see his hands get in front of the mics in both angles.
As I said (and as the rumble description and Captain Disillusion explain) digital video compression makes the dead cat cover look weird.

Not this one as far as I know, just general compression commentary.
Would love to see him tackle this. The side by side pretty well debunks it, as far as I am concerned.
