Conservatives need to start one room schools again! Like the oldschool town school houses.

Teach 25 or so kids who have patriot parents, who want their children to her a solid, personal education experience.

I bet many Conservatives would pay $5k annually for this type of service, which after all costs, would likely leave a teacher easily with $50k+ income.

I think it's a good idea. So teachers out there, get to it!

Teach them the 7 classical arts.: grammar logic rhetoric; arithmetic geometry music cosmology. It worked for the Greeks and Romans

And, for God's sake, cursive and penmanship!

Penmanship is fine, I guess. But cursive really is useless.

Ok, you don't seem to understand. You are demoted. Cursive is about discipline, character, voice, creativity, style, beauty, efficiency, and flow. Like all other skills and knowledge, it is not necessarily good in and of itself, it is what you use it for and the knock-on effects. It's like saying why learn to read when you can have audio books.

try reading our founding documents in the original without being able to read cursive.

Don't know why people are downvoting. It's a valid argument. That being said, if you can't write cursive, you most likely can't read it either.

OCR can’t read it and if you actually know how to do its more legible than print when written quickly.

You’re right cursive is dumb.

Yeah! We really should inspire conservative teachers to do this!

If or when I have children of my own, I'd want them in a school like this. That, or home schooled. But I'd rather pay a good teacher. I like the idea of kids socializing daily with other kids, making new friends, ect.

My kids went to a Classical school for elementary, and it was wonderful.

Arithmetic is number. Gometry is number in space. Music is number in time. Cosmology is number in space and time. This is all math called the quadriviuum. These subjects are along with the trivuum are designed to make your brain grow. It teaches people how to think not what.

You would think the demand for this would be overwhelming.

Right? I think this might grow in popularity. Public schooling wasn't quite so bad a decade ago. It's going downhill super quickly.

I know, where I live now, I wouldn't want my kids in public schools.

And a lot of formerly good schools have become disrupted and even dangerous now due to “school choice” and “open enrollment” programs that have handicapped the local students.

It is. Ask any religious school how they are doing.

The Lutheran school near me is having to turn away a ton of kids because their facilities are not big enough. They recently received huuge donations to build out their school. They also just hired a couple teachers and are still looking for more.

Times are changing fast.

I think government regulations have strangled the supply of this type of education.

Math teacher here. I would seriously be down with this. By the way. I dont have an "education" degree. Just a straight up degree in math. The one education class I ever took was bs.

Let me guess, you live in a red state.

I want my sister, who is an elementary school teacher fed up with being in a system where she is one of the very few who isn't a lazy commie loser, to do this. She is thinking about switching professions after 20+ years because it has gotten so bad. I think she shouldn't give up on education, but instead move to a redder area, and go into business for herself. It would be a challenge getting off the ground with it, but worth it imo. There has to be an ever-growing market for alternatives to shitty public schools. Maybe online instruction so she could reach a larger area? Just spitballing here, but I am going to bring it up next time I see her.

The public schools enslave their teachers using the pension system where you can lose your pension if you leave early. It's a fucking racket.

The enslaving pension system is why you have teachers teaching communism. Slaves only know slavery. These are the modern day Uncle Toms.

It is my dream to teach like this, or to run an orphanage where we also teach them. My English, history, math, and physics are good. I am decent on Earth science. The weak spots are biology and chemistry, but with a book and prep time I can teach youth. ...Or get a separate teacher for those subjects.
