Of course they weren't. Just like the anonymous source who spewed Russia for years turned out to be a nobody. And because the media is so desperate for rating they will believe any crap someone tells them.

And yet people keep tuning in to listen to them. It's both pathetic and scary at how stupid people have become, both the ones spewing the lies and the ones believing them.
