They never cared about the lies or getting caught. They push the lie 24/7 to ensure the most people possible will hear it and believe it and never will hear about the retraction or falsehood of their claim in the future. It's been a pattern throughout Trump's entire presidency and sadly SO many people to this day still believe many of those lies.
