There's definitely a chance that all weirdness in the video is a combination of perspective, resolution, textures, etc. producing an illusion. Can't rule it out. This article is not an explanation of that though. It's a smug suggestion that the "correct" answer is obvious to those with the right attitude, and anything else is safely assumed to be ridiculous.
