Because the people running the slave trade weren't Protestants. There's never been a time in history where their religion was disconnected from human trafficking, whether legal or illegal.

These non-protestants hate menial labor more than anything else. They think it's beneath them. "Pride in a hard day's work" is not something their brain does.

WE DID pick our own cotton. The slave owners refused to. They see themselves as a shepherds of men, and men as cattle. Witnessing their material successes, Protestants imitated them, but were never a majority of slave owners.

Anyways, learn who owned the slave ships and realize we didn't invite this on ourselves.
