Porn is so endemic to human culture that they’ve never found a time period where porn didn’t exist, or a person who hasn’t seen some type of pornography.

In other words they can’t tell what a society would be like without pornography, because they can’t find one. It hasn’t existed yet.

Interesting point. I think maybe the difference is that rape is not itself destructive to society, but rather that it creates a firey hatred in the social group surrounding the rape victim, to a level that leads to murder, war, generational in nature. Rape is ideologically reprehensible in a way that porn, when produced by consenting adults and consumed by those who understand what it is, just is not the same.

But it is an interesting point, especially when you consider the sometimes lax views on rape that were prevalent in certain cultures in certain periods. Those societies didn't really collapse. I think porn is a kind of sex crime against the collective, in the same way rape is a crime against the individual. But I'm a staunch individualist, so fap on my brothers
