The video clearly is not natural and throws off the human bullshit detector. Although it's quite possible it's an optical illusion, illusions of this nature are extremely uncommon, and usually have to be staged to be this effective. That said, based on the nature of the event and the motivation, it's hard to believe anyone would go through the effort to fake this.
The easiest way to put this to bed is to re-create the scene and demonstrate how the optical illusion could work. But just laughing at someone for seeing a video which clearly looks fake by saying it's an illusion, without showing how the illusion works, is just as dumb as the person who just believes it's a green screen... in my opinion.
