Some say that we should just have open boarders (mostly because their is no incentive other than working hard to make your own way), however people surrounding the country will try and take over and set up their own government. To not just straw-man here. Some other points can be made. Such as all drugs should be legal. Some people will just say that librarians want to smoke weed. I think about drugs that people really need to live. And that the outlawing of illegal drugs keeps drug cartels in business. Some people do take drugs just to get high, but I think that the majority of users do it because of other social-economic reasons (ie, lack of work and a stable home). Returning back to the porn argument, what can be done to have people have more stable and meaningful relationship? Everyone seems to have dug their foot in the ground about many of the issues. I think we should start with a clean slate and look at the issues in a way that does not control peoples lives.
I used to be libertarian, but I believe that we need a state to function as a cohesive society to a degree. With that said, yes, I dont agree with the "legalize everything" crowd, although they have some good points here and there. I think society is better when we aim to raise people up and give everyone an equal opportunity at life. Vices dont do that, and if anything they hold people back from realizing their full potential.
