The noodles with duck and garlic is making me drool a little. Is it as yummy as my growling tummy thinks it might be?

How’s it taste?

What does fermented Tea-Leaf taste like? I am guessing similar to Kimchee?

No, not really. I was looking it up, it says it's lacto-fermented, but somehow the acidity is reduced? Whatever it is it's some milder form of fermentation because it doesn't have that strong sauerkrauty flavor that most lacto fermented vegetables do.

It was... very interesting. Weird, kinda strong taste. Basically tastes like if you've ever had the green tea leaves in your mouth. I would guess most people wouldn't like it. I'm surprised it ever became a traditional food, as it doesn't seem to have any mass appeal, even for an Asian food. I... kinda liked it? I have a very dull sense of taste so my tastes range broad. I would order it again, but I'm weird in that I'll like something like that just to change it up, and this one is definitely very different from most foods. But if I end up eating there often I won't order it repeatedly.

If you can stand or like the taste of those tea leaves the salad was very well made. Variety of tastes, nice garlic and lemon tang.

My only apprehension is that it had me on edge for hours. I'm sensitive to salt and caffeine and can get like nervous spells, and this definitely had me going. I guess the flipside of that is apparently these Burmese have discovered the ultimate energy food. If I was really tired I'd definitely depend on it to wake my ass up; they should start selling it to truckers.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. You've definitely put me in the mind to seek out a local Burmese restaurant. And also, to try the tea leaf salad.

It was pretty tasty. Most of the dishes on their menu look pretty decent without being too weird.

The tea leaf salad was definitely weird. See my comment elsewhere on the thread

If you dislike Asians, why did you pick a Japanese username?

Some are, some aren't. My European ancestors aren't known for their cuisine either. In fact, I'd rather go to the dentist than eat most Norwegian dishes, lol.

I had a Swedish baby sitter who encouraged me to try blood sausage. Can't get past the name.

I'm dating an Asian and she's an amazing cook. I've even tried some of the more unusual ethnic dishes and have liked most of them.

Korean food is the best. Tteokbokki, Tonkatsu, kimchi, bulgogi, bibimbap, etc. I love it all.

Haha, you're a super-taster, very strong taste buds, so you like milder foods. Asian food is definitely strongly flavored.

My taste is super dull, so I love all their crazy foods. Thai curry, laotian fish sauce dressing, szechuan chili oil.

Only good thing about NJ is the widely available ethnic food. And hobbies and entertainment in general. Though of course at this point there's no actual meanjngful future here
