Delta told me wearing a mask is the law. Then they took drink and snack orders from 1st class and Economy Comfort and gave the back of the plane a pre-sealed refugee bag of a tiny water and some other crap.

I fly 4 times a week and everytime they say the BS about being against Federal Law I let out a medium volume shout of "No it isn't!".

First time I heard them say that I started looking into which law I would be breaking and low and behold the law cited laws out the authority to halt planes/people/fruits etc... to protect against viruses and evasive biology and the only penalties that can be put forth are civil penalties and even that authority was shaky. The USC and CFR cited has zero reference to people and mask or measures like wearing a mask.

The CDC REQUIRES the buses to say "according to federal law." I wonder if the CDC is also requiring airlines to use that phrase.

I believe so. The federal law cited just lays out the authority to be able to hold and civil penalties can be levied. I think they use the phrase to sound authoritative because the federal law cited doesn't have any frame work for criminal charges
