As someone who is very much aware of a cameras focus and what is in focus at a certain focal length. This was probably in the area of 55mm and no way in hell was that microphone out of focus like that.
The blurriness is what happens at a long focal length when the two objects are at different distances. One very near and one far away.
Not to mention his hand going in front of it. which would automatically put BOTH objects IN focus.
