Optically it makes him look evasive, so they composited in some more microphones to make it appear he had approached the front of the press pool. It was a totally unnecessary edit though, and ended up looking like ass when the motion tracking glitched through it.
That’s why this shot was so badly framed, and also why they pan over the rest of the press as Biden walks toward the chopper. The rest of the press was to their left.
