I used to make cloisonne enamel jewelry, years ago, and I fell in love with Byzantine enamels of Jesus and various saints, and made pendants copying the originals. Back when gold was $32/oz! Such beautiful art!

That sounds so cool.... The images of Christ and the Saints are so filled with an energy that can only come from deep spiritual belief. I totally disagree with those who say its not needed in worship of the Nazarene. Nothing brings Jesus alive in our hearts and minds better imho than this blessed Art!

I use a lot of E.O. icon Art in collage pieces I create. The eastern orthodox art is truly inspirational work. I can recommend Ethiopian Christian Art too. Its rawer and historically far older but hits the heart in the same way this Orthodox iconography does... Truly beautiful. Thanks for sharing this Fren.

Have you seen the new Russian Church, partly made of melted down German tanks? It is a memorial to WW2 military and is amazing. In the cellar is a museum that I would love to see.

Take a look:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYfdVnGHVEE

One of the many reasons I love being Orthodox. Blessed Lent to all of us on the journey!
