The easy thing to do isn't always the right thing to do. The States can make amendments that will remove/limit powers of the Federal government.

If states got together and pushed term limits, a lot of this garbage would go away overnight because come next election in 2022, a lot of people in Congress and the senate will not be eligible to run again.
It's not going to happen. For a plethora of reasons. And it wouldn't be productive. It would be the end of Texas. They'd either be overrun by Mexico, the cartels, or they'd crawl back to the US under far less favorable terms.
