Pre 1996 is mostly ob1 which is the old car computers that you could solder if you needed to too work... I'm just saying those are the most useful when SHTF.
I have 3 vehicles, all pre-1996 (and all just pre-airbags, actually). Need 3 just to make reasonably sure at least one will keep running for the rest of my life. Two of them are of identical model and year, so one could serve as a parts donor for the other, if necessary.
