100% legal where I live to be minding your own business with a gun in your truck. The fact that the article doesn't accuse him of plotting kidnap/murder/suicide/terrorism/etc. leads me to believe they've got nothing else on him and this is a big nothing burg.
Haven't had time to check I'm at work but I read earlier that the gun and ammo were in his car in a parking garage miles away...have not verified this yet
